What is Emuná?
Emuná is the Hebrew word for faith. Not belief, but faithfulness made real through practice. Its root, aman, means to hold firm. In Jewish tradition it is bound to uman, the artist, the craftsman, so that faith and creation are understood as kindred work.
We are an institute for resiliency: the capacity to metabolize rupture and remain in relationship with yourself, with others, and with your own creative life.
The physician was once also a philosopher, an artist, a tender of the soul. Medicine, art, and spirit were one inquiry. Their division is a modern aberration, not the natural order. Emuná is built to restore what was split apart.
Psychiatry, therapeutic mentoring, the arts, education, and training — all a return to aliveness.
