What is Integrative Psychiatry?
Integrative psychiatry blends conventional psychiatric care with root-cause medicine, psychoanalysis, energy work, and functional testing. At Resilient Minds, we look at the whole person—not just the DSM code or prescription.
We treat anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADHD, and mood instability not just as “brain chemistry issues,” but as invitations to investigate inflammation, trauma, gut health, methylation, nutrient imbalances, and your unique energetic constitution.
Our approach is deeply personalized, nonjudgmental, and supportive of both medication and non-medication paths. Healing is not one-size-fits-all. It requires attunement to mind, body, spirit, and story.

Philosophy & Ethos
At Resilient Minds, we do not pathologize human suffering. We see it as a signal of imbalance, misalignment, or unmet needs—not as a permanent disorder. Psychiatry must evolve—to integrate the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual dimensions of healing.
NP Bonneville is trained in psychoanalysis (previously required training for all psychiatrists), somatic healing, functional medicine, and frequency-based work. Her care blends structure with soul. It is analytic, intuitive, and holistic.
"A man's concern, even his despair, over the worthwhileness of life is an existential distress but by no means a mental disease."
— Viktor E. Frankl Psychiatrist and Holocaust Survivor

Medications and Tapering
When clinically appropriate, we prescribe psychiatric medication—often at doses lower or in different formulations than conventional guidelines. Research on these medications is largely funded by pharmaceutical companies, and doesn’t reflect your unique biochemistry, metabolism, or energy system. We use tools like pharmacogenetic testing and Bioterrain medicine testing to customize your medication approach. NP Bonneville also relies on her intuition and many years treating complex and treatment resistant patients.
For those interested in reducing or discontinuing medication, we offer highly personalized, safe, and supported tapering guidance. NP Bonneville has helped hundreds of patients taper off complex regimens, including polypharmacy and benzodiazepines. Tapering is always collaborative and never rushed. We do not believe in sudden discontinuation as this is more damaging to your neurophysiology. We believe in honoring the body and psyche as they adjust to each change.
“To pathologize despair is to bury it under a heap of tranquilizers.”
— Viktor E. Frankl

Psychoneuroendocrinology & Hormones
Hormones play a critical role in mood, energy, focus, and emotional stability. Too often, general psychiatry overlooks hormonal causes of anxiety, depression, irritability, or fatigue—opting instead to medicate without investigating deeper endocrine imbalances.
At Resilient Minds, we understand the profound intersection between psychiatry and hormone health. We assess for:
-
Perimenopause, menopause, and andropause
-
Thyroid dysfunction (including subtle hypothyroidism)
-
Cortisol and adrenal signaling
-
Estrogen/testosterone imbalances impacting brain function
Through functional testing, methylation protocols, peptide therapies, and gentle, biomimetic hormonal support, we address the full picture. For more complex hormone therapy, we refer to trusted naturopaths who specialize in advanced prescription-based care.
You don’t need to choose between hormone balance and mental health. They are part of the same system—and must be treated in collaboration.

Pharmacogenetics and Genetic Psychiatry
Not all medications are right for every body. Using My Happy Genes testing, we analyze over 600 genes that impact your mood, methylation, detox, and drug metabolism.
This test helps us:
-
Understand why certain meds do or don't work for you
-
Create methylation and supplement protocols
-
Adjust your treatment plan with precision
Unlike some DNA testing companies NP Bonneville has used in the past, My Happy Genes does not sell your genetic material. Most insurance approved pharmacogenetics companies are owned by Big Pharma, only test for that which is important when prescribing drugs and don't test enough SNIPS (single nucleotide polymorphisms). We have also figured out how to bill code for reimbursement through out of network insurance for this test. This is a powerful tool for those who've had side effects or poor results from standard psychiatric medications.

ADHD, Neurodivergence & Medication Sensitivity
NP Bonneville understands that divergent minds often:
-
Experience side effects that “shouldn’t exist” according to mainstream psychiatry
-
Struggle with motivation, overstimulation, and fatigue
-
Need tailored stimulant dosing and methylation support
We use judicious stimulant prescribing—but only in the context of full-body healing: gut work, B vitamin metabolism, stress, and trauma are all essential.

Addiction, Habits & Harm Reduction
We support all recovery paths—including harm reduction, moderation, or total abstinence.
-
Microdoses of GLP-1s (semaglutide/tirzepatide) for cravings & nervous system reset
-
Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) or The Sinclair Method for alcohol cravings
-
Support for binge eating, compulsive behavior, and habit change
-
Emotional, nutritional, and neurological support for sobriety
Whether you're sober-curious, in long-term recovery, or looking to heal shame-free—we're here.

🌡️ Chronic Illness & Autoimmune Psychiatry
Many of our patients live with comorbid conditions like:
-
Lyme
-
Mold exposure
-
Autoimmune syndromes
-
Mast cell or histamine issues
-
POTS, MCAS, or other “mystery diagnoses”
Trauma and stored emotion affect the organ systems—and drive psychiatric symptoms. We understand this relationship and work holistically to regulate immunity, energy, and mood through methylation, detox, and gentle nervous system repair.
